Fifth Year in-a-row Participation in Food & Wine Aspen Highlights the Destination’s Gastronomy Scene .

New York, June 13, 2012 – Gastronomy aficionados and connoisseurs attending the 30th annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, the U.S.’s premier culinary festival, will have the opportunity to sample a taste of what Puerto Vallarta has to offer in the tantalizing delicacies prepared by Chef Kori Sutton, the Sous Chef at BOCADOSSTK, one of Puerto Vallarta’s leading restaurants and part of Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa. 

Accomplished Chef Sutton has more than 10 years’ experience in all facets of cooking including tenures at Vallarta’s renowned restaurant Café des Artistes. While at the three day event Sutton will be offering Tomatillo Gazpacho with Mezcal, Lime Grilled Shrimp Season with toasted Gaujillo Chill Sea salt, Platano Macho Gorditas topped with Gaujillo Chili Rub Pork and Mango Confit, Baby watercress with Grilled Scallops, Aguachile Cream and Escabache Shallots showcasing the many flavors found in the dishes of Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta’s rich natural ingredients and beauty have been a source of inspiration for the creation of an exciting amalgam of flavors that blend traditional Mexican ingredients with contemporary tastes from around the globe. Visitors will find some of the world’s most fabulous restaurants, many of them Five Star Diamond Award recipients from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, offering menus that represent a combination of the destination’s unique mix of sea, mountains and colonial traditions.

Gastronomy is an integral part of Puerto Vallarta where Saint Pascual Bailon, the Patron Saint of cooks is a fixture in its infrastructure with a bronze statue of him is part of the destination’s waterfront boardwalk, the Malecon. The statue is engraved with the winners of the San Pascual awards, inspired by a Franciscan Friar and been give out since 2008 during Restaurant Week, held every year, during the last two weeks of May. The 2012 recipients were Chefs Guillermo González Beristaín, José Ramón Castillo and Juan Ramón Cárdenas Cantú.

In November of every year, Puerto Vallarta embraces its culinary scene with the annual International Gourmet Festival. Taking place from the 8th to the 18th of November, the 10-day festival features 30 star guest master chefs and participating restaurants offering special Chef’s Table and Winemaker dinners as well as cooking demonstrations, gourmet safaris, and cheese, wine and tequila tastings.

During the month of March visitors to Puerto Vallarta can enjoy the Vallarta Wine Fest, a yearly event that brings wines from Mexico, South America and beyond. Participating restaurants across Puerto Vallarta offer wine tasting and matching inside and out of their establishments some even provide outside entertainment.

Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s most popular destinations and Thomas Dale & Associates (TDA), a leading global investigative and security firm, found that the the international destination is one of the safest for American and Canadian travelers.

Travelers seem to be in agreement as the destinations’s hotel ocupancy for the first five months of the year has been 19% above last year for the same months. Consumers have also awarded numerous alcalades to the destination this years, including “Most Romantic Mexican Destination” and “Favorite Mexican Beach” from the readers of About.com and Trip Advisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards have chosen Puerto Vallarta as the #9 Beach Destination and the number one overall destination in Mexico.

"Top Ten Fishing Species" that you can catch on Banderas Bay!

Some say that Banderas Bay was formed from a volcano; that it is so deep that no instruments have ever been able to accurately detect its depth. Others claim it to be two miles deep. They are all incorrect as it’s merely an extension of a canyon running from the Banderas Valley or Ameca Valley with its deepest point near Cabo Corrientes, measured at 900 meters or approximately 3,000 feet.

Now, what differentiates this bay from the many large shallow water bays of the world is its quantity of humpback whales, giant manta rays, dolphins, marlin, sailfish, and a myriad of other fine game fish that live in deep water. Not only does the bay average over 1,000 feet deep, but the water temperature, being on the same latitude as Hawaii, is ideal year round for these fish. Of course, if it’s good enough for the fish, it’s good enough for us! Swimming conditions in the bay are perfect, year round, with sunshine overhead for at least 330 days annually.

Noveno Pilar: El Ingreso rara vez es mayor que el Desarrollo Personal

“Lo que usted obtenga será proporcional a su cambio.”

Sí, el pilar número nueve. Le va a gustar éste. Tiene que ver con el dinero.

Sí tiene que ver con el dinero, claro que me va a gustar. Pero,  ¿por qué es el número nueve?

¿No debería ser el número uno?  Después de todo, el dinero hace ‘girar’ al mundo.

Michael este es uno de los errores que mucha gente comete. En la realidad, el dinero no hace que el mundo ‘gire’

El  dinero no le da seguridad, Michael. Si usted espera seguridad cuando sea rico, tendrá que esperar mucho tiempo.

¿Por qué dice eso?

El dinero siempre puede irse. Puede  perderlo. Puede ser demandado. La inflación se lo puede comer. Pueden robarle. Cada año, puede oír que los que fueron millonarios o aún multi-millonarios se  declararon en bancarrota, yendo de cientos de millones de dólares a la nada.... en un año. Imagine eso.

Cuando estaba diciendo las últimas palabras, Charlie comenzó a toser. Estaba tan mal que se excusó y se fue al baño. Michael quedó solo, preguntándose por qué deseaba tanto tener dinero. Cuando Charlie regresó, ellos continuaron.

Bueno, supongo que para comprar todas las cosas lindas que quiero para mí y para mi familia.

Después de que se convierta en millonario, usted puede darlo todo porque lo que es importante no es el millón de dólares, sino en lo que se convirtió usted durante el proceso de volverse millonario.

¿Regalarlo? El no lo regaló todo.

No, no tiene que regalarlo. Usted puede regalarlo, porque se convirtió en una persona que puede recuperarlo. Ganarse el millón de dólares lo hizo ser la persona capaz de conseguirlo.

Ahora usted puede hacerlo de nuevo, si lo necesita. Esta es otra cosa que el señor Davis enseña a la gente. El dice: El ingreso rara vez es mayor que el desarrollo personal. Si

usted quiere ganar un millón de dólares, tiene que crecer personalmente hasta el punto de convertirse en la persona que vale un millón de dólares. Tiene que gustarle en lo que usted se convirtió, no solamente el dinero. Usted sabe lo que el viejo proverbio dice; Aquél que sólo ama el dinero, nunca le va a parecer suficiente.

Michael miró hacia el techo, se recostó en su asiento y dijo:

Yo sólo quiero saber cómo ganar más dinero.

De acuerdo. Le puedo contar uno de los secretos más grandes para hacer una fortuna, que jamás ha conocido el mundo. Casi todas las personas acaudaladas de todos los tiempos,  salvo algunas pocas  han comprobado esta verdad. Esta es una de las favoritas del señor Davis. El dice: Las ganancias son mejores que los salarios. Charlie dijo esto y se quedó esperando. Tenía un gesto de satisfacción en su cara. Pero, Michael no lo entendió.

¿Las Ganancias son mejores que los salarios? Sí, las ganancias son mejores que los salarios.

¿Qué se supone que significa eso?

Michael, es muy simple. ¿Usted quiere ganar un millón de dólares en un año? Claro ¡eso sería maravilloso!

Si vendiera diez veces lo que vende ahora, ¿ganaría un millón de dólares en un año?

No, ni cerquita.

¿Y el dueño de su compañía? Si toda su gente de ventas vendiera tres veces más de lo que hacen ahora, ¿cree que ganaría un millón de dólares en un año?

Creo que él produce un millón de dólares ahora. Como podrá imaginar la respuesta es sí.

¿Pero qué tiene que ver eso con esto?

Usted está en un sistema de salario, Michael. El dueño de su empresa está en el sistema de ganancia o utilidad. Y, así como usted mismo se dio cuenta, las ganancias son mejores que los salarios.

Pero, ¿cómo consigo ganancias en vez de salario?

Usted debe trabajar para usted mismo. Si sigue trabajando para otra persona, no ganará mucho dinero. Claro que hay atletas profesionales y altos ejecutivos de las corporaciones en Estados Unidos que ganan mucho, pero ellos son muy pocos, estadísticamente son insignificantes. El noventa y nueve por ciento de la gente que es rica, se volvió rica trabajando para ellos mismos y capturando las ganancias. Las grandes riquezas que fueron heredadas, si usted les sigue la trayectoria, comenzaron con gente que creó su propia empresa.

Es otro de los principios del señor Davis sobre dinero y riqueza. A lo mejor es el comienzo de la respuesta a su dilema, como dice el señor Davis: ‘Trabaje tiempo completo en su trabajo y medio tiempo en su fortuna.’ A lo mejor puede empezar un negocio y hacerlo crecer hasta el punto en que pueda trabajarlo a tiempo completo.

Bueno, eso puede ser viable. Tengo algunas ideas de cosas que quiero hacer de vez en cuando y aún no he hecho nada. Lo que pasa es que con la familia y todas las otras cosas, ha sido muy difícil.

Cualquier cosa es difícil, Michael. Usted debe reconocer eso. Recuerde. El dolor de la disciplina o el dolor del remordimiento. Usted escoge. Si quiere trabajar duro, comience su propio negocio, conviértalo en una gran empresa, y alcance su independencia financiera; o prefiere permanecer donde está y esperar a que el gobierno tenga suficiente dinero para su pensión…...
